According to reports by TMZ.com WWE Superstar John Cena has filed for divorce from his wife Liz Huberdeau after three years of marriage. TMZ is reporting that Huberdeau has already hired the same lawyer in the Hulk Hogan divorce trial Raymond Rafool who has already released a statement saying…
“Although it is indeed unfortunate that John Cena decided to divorce his high school sweetheart Liz Cena; particularly, after they have come so far in their lives and in his career together, Liz will and really has no choice but to pursue all of her rights and entitlements. Sadly, divorce is not the way Liz thought her perfect love story would end.”
TMZ was also given a statement by the former Ms. John Cena.
Cena blindsided her with the divorce filing. They had been having issues — and Cena even approached her recently with a pre-divorce financial settlement agreement — but Liz refused to sign it, convinced the relationship would still work out.
This is all very sad news esspecially considering we just saw the couple together just prior to WrestleMania when RAW was in Cena’s home town Boston Massachusetts.
I don’t know how this will reflect Cena’s image moving forward and how he will be affected with a potential match at Over the Limit against John Laurinatis.
There have been a lot of high profile, messy divorces in the world of sports and sports entertainment and this case looks like it will be no different.
